TRELY SUPPORT

Groups and group chat

Client groups, a group session for one group and group chat.

01

A group is a trainer’s list of clients

Create a group under Clients → Groups with “New group”. The name has 1 to 40 characters and you can have up to 10 groups. Add clients after tapping the group; you can only add clients you work with. Clients cannot see a group without a chat, and deleting it does not affect them.

02

Groups, group sessions and participation

A group does not create a session by itself. For a new group session, choose “Group” under “Who can sign up”, then select the group. Clients then sign up for their own spot. Membership is checked when the client joins. Each client then answers for their own participation and pays for their own place. The client does not see the group name on the session. When your connection with a client ends, the client is removed from all your groups and only their participation in group sessions is cancelled. Pausing a client does not remove them from groups.

03

Group chat

Turn the chat on in the group menu with “Group chat”. Clients in the group who have a Trely account will see it, others once they connect their account. Chat is available for groups of up to 50 members. Members message each other and the trainer and see each other’s names and profile photos from their profiles. A new member sees messages from when they were added to the chat. You can also send photos in the chat. Group chat has no read receipts.

04

Leaving the chat and coming back

A client can leave with “Leave the chat”. They stop seeing messages and getting notifications but stay in the group and in sessions. Only the trainer can bring them back, under Members with “Bring back to the chat”, and the client then sees messages from their return. When a client is removed from the group or the connection ends, they lose the chat immediately; their earlier messages remain. The trainer can turn the chat off: members stop seeing it, messages stay stored and appear again when it is turned back on.

05

Hiding a member’s messages, reporting and notifications

As a client you can hide another member’s messages, but not the trainer’s. You then no longer see each other’s messages in any group you share, and that member is not told. You can report another member’s message. Turn chat notifications off in its menu with “Mute notifications”.

06

Deleting a group and erasing data

Deleting a group with chat turned on also removes the chat with all its messages. Clients’ sessions and payments do not change. After “Also erase from my account” with a trainer, the client’s messages in that trainer’s group chats are removed; deleting an account removes all of that person’s group messages.
